Open Issues

Track some apps related open issues so we don't forget about them -- open issues as of 27 Jan 2004

Application

• Timezones (see ContentModelProject)
• Chandler requires the network to be up (zaobao), not ideal
  • HTML takes a long time to load (zaobao), don't want ui to lock up

Application framework

• Queries and collections, see xxx
• Threading model, notifications isn't quite right at application level
• Logging doesn't work well with wing (log file is locked, can't look at it), work out some solution involving the console
• We have doc generated from xml about attributes and kinds, and epydoc for python classes: kind of annoying to have two?

Data model related

• inverseAttribute/otherName
• parcel format, xml model of data in general (see ParcelFramework)
  • uris
  • describes tag
  • nesting to indicate containment for views

• dynamic, bidirectional references, adhoc bidirectional references, attribute inheritance and othername
• schema evolution, parcel load/unload

Repository related

rumors of bugs, either the way the app is using the repository, or in the repository, but need to be described more clearly (may or may not be in bugzilla, have to track this down):
