We now have timings from the hardhat run on 3 machines (Aparna's Powerbook, Anthony's iBook and the QA machine kilauea).
There's no doubt that kilauea is slower and we need to look for a way to fix the problem. Katie suggested a few things:
Run a disk scan on kilauea and see if the disk is fragmented. Unfragment the disk if necessary.
Currently kilauea has only 512 MB RAM(compared to 768 on my and Anthony's machines)
Run the unit tests on all the 3 platforms once more to see if the numbers are consistent.
Anthony has composed the 1000 event calendar and is ready for import. Anthony will import the calendar into Chandler and determine the time it takes to import.
Go over the use cases with Sheila on Monday.
Research other apps and find the target times (importing 1000/4000 item calendar into Chandler and iCal and determine how long does each take)
Later on we will also need to determine how to get performance metrics for email - Check with Grant on how they did it at Apple.
Katie is working on loading calendar data in an excel spreadsheet that can be exported as a .csv file and then using a python script we can upload that into Chandler. Olivier may be a good resource for writing this python script.
